Best time to visit Berlin: the city through the year

Here you see at a glance what each season offers, what happens in which month and when we would invite guests ourselves.

Our advice by type of trip

  • First visit: May, June or September. Warm enough to be outside, long days, and in September the summer crowds have gone.
  • Culture without crowds: January or November. Museums, concerts, long evenings in pubs.
  • Outdoors and water: July and August, with lakes instead of sights in the afternoon.
  • Atmosphere: December, with Christmas markets and New Year's Eve, but also with the most people.
